Our diaphragm wall solutions provide robust underground structural support by creating reinforced concrete walls in-situ. Specialized bentonite or polymer slurries prevent soil from collapsing during trench excavation, reinforcement, and concrete pouring.
For high-rise buildings, bridges, and other heavy infrastructure, our bored cast-in-place concrete piles deliver superior load-bearing capabilities. Constructed on-site by specialized piling contractors, these piles are a reliable deep foundation solution.
We construct intersecting reinforced concrete or steel pile walls to create soil-retaining, water-tight barriers. Primary and secondary piles overlap to form a continuous structure tailored to your site conditions.
The piles are reinforced with either steel rebar or with steel beams and are constructed by either drilling under mud or augering. Primary piles are installed first with secondary piles constructed in between primary piles once the latter gain sufficient strength. Pile overlap is typically in the order of 3 inches (8 cm). In a tangent pile wall, there is no pile overlap as the piles are constructed flush to each other.
Where complicated ground conditions or space constraints exist, our micro piling systems provide an optimal small-diameter deep foundation solution. From underpinning existing structures to navigating boulders and rock, our micro piles can be keyed into any formation.
As the name implies, micropile is small diameter piles constructed by the drilling process and are often keyed into rock. The diameter of micropile can be found in the market ranging from 100mm to 250mm. Of late, technological advancement in machinery has made it possible for micropile of much greater diameters to be constructed.
For top-down basement and underground structure construction, our tubular kingpost piles ensure stability from the start. Drilled vertically and grouted with concrete/cement slurry, they also facilitate excavation staging.
By driving steel H-pile sections and inserting timber lagging sequentially, MFB Geotech constructs soldier pile walls that minimize ground movement and subsidence during adjacent excavations.
Soldier piles are also known as king piles or Berlin walls. The horizontal earth pressures are concentrated on the soldier piles because of their relative rigidity compared to the lagging. Soil movement and subsidence is minimized by maintaining the lagging in firm contact with the soil.
We install interlocking steel sheet piles to create subterranean barriers for temporary and permanent earth retention structures like cofferdams and retaining walls.
